Vote for your 2018 Vitality Goalden Globe winners!

Volunteers from across the country will all come together for an evening of glitz and glamour at the 2018 Vitality Goalden Globes on Saturday 15th September at the East Midlands Conference Centre in Nottingham to recognise the outstanding contributions they make to our sport.

The Vitality Goalden Globe Awards is a collective celebration, beginning at a regional level with various events held between May and July, and culminating in a prestigious national awards evening.

The 2018 Vitality Goalden Globe Awards will again include an online vote, where you can find out more about the fabulous achievements of all of our nominees and choose who you feel should win each category.

The online vote is limited to one vote per category and for each award the online vote will make up 60% of the total scoring. The remaining 40% will be determined by the Vitality Goalden Globe Awards National Panel who review all nominations across all categories.

Tickets for this prestigious event always sell fast so we advise you to book at the earliest opportunity to avoid missing out.

Tickets are £50 each or £450 for a table of 10 and are available here. All nominees will receive a direct communication and invite to the event.

Grassroots Official Award

Barb Bradshaw

Barb is passionate about officiating and regularly encourages others to take up the whistle and join “Team White”. Barb actively mentors a number of umpires in the local leagues and sits on the Oxford Umpiring Development committee and is a key cog as part of the mentoring scheme. This tireless work has resulted in numerous young officials gaining their Into Officiating award and 8 new C Award umpires in the past year. She is committed to self-development, attending courses where possible and actively engages with umpires in the county to discuss issues, encourage learning and show her support.

Mary Bulloch Administrator Award

A taste of some of Angie’s roles include Secretary for Meon Netball Club, Team Manager for Jellies Netball Club and Umpire Mentor and Co-ordinator for Portsmouth Netball Association. Some of the key highlights of achievements from Angie has been to set up new junior Jellies Netball Club sessions attracting pre-schoolers and beyond to netball, organising netball tours and tournaments, as well as Back to Netball, Netball Now and Walking Netball, all resulting in literally thousands of people playing netball! Without Angie a lot of netball simply wouldn’t happen.

Muriel McNally Award

Kim Schepens

Kim Schepens has been involved in Sussex Netball and Netball South in supporting umpires for over 10 years. By providing support to tutors, mentors, assessors and umpires Kim has also achieved the amazing milestone of supporting her 100th umpire to gain their C Award this year! Kim also has the unenviable task of allocating umpires for the three Open divisions as well as Under 19 division of the Regional leagues. The time and effort Kim puts in has resulted in an improved quality of netball for players and umpires across Sussex and the Region.

Outstanding Netball Club Award

5Ways Netball Club were set up in 2014 to give girls in the local area of Brighton the opportunity to experience netball. On top of this they have worked hard to secure kit sponsors, set up Camps and Festivals, Back to Netball sessions and find time to fit in a Beach Netball Festival! This has resulted in almost 300 members in that short time, 6 squad age groups and links with local schools, as well as success on court! The club instils the values of teamwork, perseverance, and respect which has been rewarded through the “Spirit of the Tournament” Award at the England Netball Disney Tournament.
