Eagles Soar at the Nationals Three Years Running

The under 16 Eagles team had a last hurrah at the National Club Championships at Nottingham University in April. This talented group of girls have been South Region champions for the last three years and have finished 3rd, 2nd and 4th at the Nationals in those years.

The highlight of this year's competition was a thrilling comeback performance against Leeds Athletic in the top 6 stage of the tournament. Eagles were seven goals down but managed to pull it back to secure a place in the bronze medal match. There were also wins against Ryland, Huddersfield Giants, Saints Cornwall and Oaksway, before a narrow loss to the finalists Oldham.

Despite a number of serious injuries to players in our squad, the strength and determination of the squad enabled the team to continue to play at the highest level.

Watch out for these outstanding players at senior level - some of them are already playing for Eagles1 and Eagles2, who also had a fantastic season; and several of them already play in Mavericks and Surrey Storm Super League academies and the England academy.

Fly high Eagles!
